Community Viöl
The name Viöl is first mentioned in 1275. The former spelling was 'Fjolde' and means 'High Field' and is Nordic.
The community Viöl encompasses the villages Eckstock, Kragelund, Hoxtrup, Boxlund, Hochviöl and Viöl. Our village has ca. 1.500 citizens and is growing constantly. Viöl is formed by trade, independant profession, public facilities Kirche, school and administration.
There are several shopping options for the daily needs. Right now there are still 30 full time farms working. They are located at the outskirts of our community.
Good public transport makes it possible to reach Husum and Flensburg several times a day. Many roads and well-constructed streets off the main roads, lets one enjoy cycling. Viöl has many leisure time options: sports ground, sports hall, tennis, shooting hall, public swimming pool, fitness studio and other amenities.
As there is a lot of house and industrial building, it is also possible in the future to live here and find work. The community is quite anxious to encourage an intact, lively village life.
We invite citizens, new citizens and guests to take part objectively and creatively.
