Community Ahrenviölfeld
Ahrenviölfeld is a very young community. It got its political independence on 01.12.1934. Roughly 150 years ago, Ahrenviöler farmers settled here and reclaimed this heath and barren land. Only a rest-moor, under landscape protection since 1966, where until the sixties peat was cut, still remains. It is a deep moor with still big and open water places and is 68ha big. Ahrenviölfeld is situated ca. 20km from the North Sea and has around 250 citizens.
Two children's playgrounds and 1 play and sports ground are available. Around the community's cenotaph, a citizen's initiative created a village facility. Former marl-pits have been converted into a fish and ducks lake.
The centre of the village is the well established inn 'Felsenburg' with a Federal bowling alley. The community is strongly formed by its agriculture with a strong milk animal husbandry.
