Only St. Peter-Ording has dunes at a size of 248ha. They appear now as brown dunes, which are covered with vegetation. White dunes also called shifting sand dunes, developed only on sandbanks.

It is a must in St. Peter-Ording to explore the terrific landscape. The motto is here 'nature pure'.
