The former bank building at Husum's inner harbour houses today the collection of North Friesian shipping and fishing history.



Historic whaling and the Husumer mudflat fishing, steel shipbuilding of the Husumer dockyard and wood shipbuilding of the coastal region form the centre of the collections.

Well worth seeing is the original reproduction of a Schnigge, the coastal transport of the 18. and 19.century as well as the Uelvesbüller wreck:

Archaeologists salvaged this sensational find from the 16.century during dyke construction work.

The Uelvesbüller wreck was conserved in a sugar solution for several years and then in a specially build hall erected.
